What would frequent relocations mean to your career?  How would you be able to handle the constant transitions?

Michelle Zak has seen her share of transitions as a former Army officer.  But as Michelle moved from military to civilian life, her husband remained in the military, requiring constant relocation.  Finding a career that could move with her was a daunting task.

Ultimately deciding to control her own destiny,  Michelle was able to carve out opportunities on her own, leading to her launching Four Tabs Design.  Michelle shared her process of identifying her passions and strengths, creating opportunities for herself, and acknowledging the element of luck involved in finding the right clients and platforms for her work.

Three Key Takeaways

  1. Create opportunities for yourself by identifying your strengths, allowing you to forge your path to financial success and control your destiny.

  2. Prioritizing What Matters: focus on the end goal rather than rigid expectations, embracing flexibility and autonomy.

  3. Finding Purpose Through Finance: Financial planning is not just about numbers but also about emotions.  Understanding your purpose and aligning your financial decisions with your objectives creates opportunities for clarity and fulfillment in your life.

As someone with a military background, Michelle discussed the importance of autonomy and flexibility in leadership while recognizing the military's emphasis on following a formula.  She sees her current situation as an opportunity to exercise autonomy and achieve her goals on her own terms.
